Labor Department Error Overstates Female Job Losses

The Wall Street Journal reports that economist Stephen G. Bronars, Ph.D. identified an error in the recent Bureau of Labor Statistics' Current Employment Statistics. Bronars estimated that 56.5 percent of jobs lost during the Obama Administration were women’s jobs—still a majority, but nowhere near as shocking as the Bureau of Labor Statistics' original calculation of 92.3 percent. The Labor Department is scheduled to reissue an affected data series in June.
