David Volin joined Welch Consulting in June of 2014 for the purpose of guiding the public relations outreach of the firm. He brings over 30 years of sales, sales management, and instructor experience to the firm.

After graduating from the United States Air Force Academy, Mr. Volin was a decorated combat pilot in Vietnam, flew secret missions for a command headquarters special unit, and completed his career assisting in the development of the F-15 fighter aircraft, where he was in charge of writing the pilot’s flight manual. During his ten-year tenure with the Air Force he won a grant to attend Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, where he received his MBA in Public Policy, earning distinguished graduate honors.

Upon leaving the Air Force, Mr. Volin joined IBM in New England, where he received numerous honors for his development of new business and was promoted to a sales instructor position at IBM’s training headquarters. While there he was the number one rated instructor on the staff.  His last position with IBM before retirement was leading the New England new account development team. Subsequently, he successfully led the sales forces of several national software providers and sales consulting firms. He is the originator of numerous curricula to assist professionals in their business development efforts.
